deebo flyway [03:50]
deebo Intelo, Flyway is a tool that allows you to migrate databases across versions (think of it as being somewhat like version control for a schema.) See http://flywaydb.org for more; also see ~liquibase and ~dbunit. [03:50]
acidjnk_new hello - is there a good way to do this with keytool: I have a truststore and I have a https-URL / cert. I want to know if, at its current state, that truststore would trust that cert, e. g. through some root cert it has been created with. [03:52]
acidjnk_new Something like: keytool -keystore mykeystore -would-you-trust mycert.DER [03:52]

dreamreal probably there's an IOEXception being thrown that you're not catching [05:19]

newpy ah ok [05:22]

dreamreal or even: sockets.forEach((sock) -> { try{sock.close(); } catch(IOException ioe) { logger.error(ioe); } }); [05:25]
newpy so do I not even need to test sock != null and !sock.isClosed() since it's in a try/catch? [05:28]
dreamreal I dunno, depends on the state of the sockets and what that collection is and what it contains [05:28]
newpy well some of them could have gotten EOF and auto-closed? [05:28]
dreamreal sure, I guess, but you're likely to run into that situation anyway [05:29]
dreamreal what happens if you close a closed socket? [05:29]
newpy I'm not sure haha [05:29]
dreamreal programmers are fantastic at inventing problems they don't know they have but think they might :) [05:30]
newpy dreamreal, well it seems to be working afaict [05:37]
newpy I should look up socket.close(), I just did a random google and some of the first results said I should check for socket != null, isClosed(), etc. [05:38]
dreamreal well, if your collection contains nulls, that would be ungood to call null.close() [05:38]
newpy the collection definitely doesn't, but I thought maybe if the socket is already closed it may get gc'ed and point to null [05:40]
newpy not sure why I thought that, I saw some code snippets with while(sock != null) and assumed I guess [05:40]
