Bombe It is amazing that you do not see the connection between what you?ve been saying and what I?ve been saying. [03:39]
bernard_ So dreamreal, I got it by the way. Thx for the help [03:53]
bernard_ So I did it without Query, but that is my next goal to build it that way. [03:55]

macroprep can a class have multiple super classes? [04:53]
macroprep for example, VectorSpaceBase having the superclasses VectorSpaceCore and VectorBase [04:54]
Bombe Short answer: no. Long answer: no, but with more insults. [04:55]
dreamreal I wonder if this is something you could try or google [04:55]
Stummi macroprep, even longer answer: If you think you need something like this, look at the composite or delegate pattern [04:56]
dreamreal much shorter answer: define your problem clearly and hire someone who knows how to program. [04:56]
Tazmain [Tazmain!~Tazmain@unaffiliated/tazmain] has joined #kotlin [04:58]
dreamreal macroprep: with all due respect, you seem to get tripped up by the simplest of terms, which says to me that you're desperately out of your depth and struggling to survive [05:00]
Bombe Also, incredibly stubborn and hell-bent on wasting your and everybody else?s time. [05:04]
dreamreal That COULD be a strength, of course, but... I seriously doubt it [05:04]
Bombe Yes, there is a point where it changes from strength to? I don?t know, sillyness? [05:08]

Stummi I noticed that the project I am currently working on names unit test methods with full sentences (@Test fun `get foo with bar should return bar`(){ ... }). Is this some local quirks or a paradigm/best practice? [05:38]
dreamreal it's pretty common [05:39]
Stummi I like it, actually [05:39]
dreamreal makes it super descriptive when it fails [05:39]
dreamreal naturally, I'm old and don't do it, should probably change that [05:40]
Bombe I also totally do that. [05:45]
OtakuSenpai [OtakuSenpai!~OtakuSenp@unaffiliated/neel] has joined #kotlin [05:46]
Stummi Oh, I also just learned that these fancy names are compiled as is. Always thought thats some kotlin name mangling magic, but apparently the Class format allows much more symbols than java in these names [05:48]
dreamreal yeah, scala's tests have done that for years [05:50]

Stummi well, they asked for polymorphism earlier. [07:33]
Bombe They?ve asked for all kinds of things over the months, and ?can Kotlin do polymorphism? is not the kind of question you usually ask at the _end_ of such a period. [07:35]
Stummi ah, ok [07:37]

dreamreal Stummi: it's an excellent example of how to write such books [09:23]
Cymity dreamreal: What do you mean? I said I just read through a bit of it [09:27]
Cymity I was learning C but then gave up on it [09:27]
dreamreal why? [09:28]
dreamreal Cymity: the way you phrased it made it sound like you *managed* to make it through some of it, but it was a struggle... meanwhile, K&R is outdated but a fine example of how to write C even so [09:28]
Cymity I didn't have a use for it so I found it unenjoyable. With android at least I can make something that will be of use to me and make it more enjoyable [09:34]
dreamreal *shrug* okay [09:36]
