mirk0 hi guys, is there a shorter syntax for "if (isRequired != required) { [07:40]
mirk0 required = isRequired }"? [07:40]
k5__ required=isRequired [07:42]
mirk0 k5__ hahah, yes but I use it for android databinding "binding adatpers" and it could cause infinite loop :) [07:50]
mirk0 I need to check if they differ [07:50]

zacts hi [03:44]
zacts what is the main difference between kotlin and groovy? [03:44]
cheeser kotlin is stronly typed. groovy is loads of suck. :) [03:45]
zacts ok [03:45]
zacts so I'm thinking I'd use kotlin over groovy for a new project [03:46]
miasma groovy has lots of "productivity" features that seem pretty badly designed [03:46]
cheeser for sure [03:46]
cheeser outside of gradle, i would never recommend groovy [03:46]
miasma i'd use kotlin with gradle, too [03:46]
miasma the only problem is, gradle is probably the most bloated build tool when you enable both groovy/kotlin dsl language support [03:47]
cheeser i would use maven, personally, but yes, gradle+kotlin would be a better choice that groovy [03:48]

zacts so is kotlin just syntactic sugar for java, or does it provide semantically different features as well? [05:03]
Bombe It?a different language. [05:16]
Bombe Is Python just syntactic sugar for C? [05:16]
zacts ah I see [05:22]
